I have seen several news outlets touch on this. They seem to be growing as people realize that the cost of running their conventional vehicles is not coming back down. I have wanted to switch for environmental reasons for several years now, I had to save for it. Now seems to be the perfect time to buy seeing as it is becoming just too darn expensive to keep driving petrol-powered cars. I think hybrids are great for people who can't afford a fully electric vehicle. They are not cheap to buy or fix in comparison but I hope this encourages more people to at least buy hybrids over conventional ones.

I must have overlooked this thead!

I was just going to post one about this very topic. Just at work alone, in the last 6 months, 4 people have switched to EVs and 7 are considering it or shopping their options. I see more and more on the roads as well.

Did you know we have a shortage happening as well?

A friend at work was telling me about it. A lot of EVs are back-ordered and are no longer accepting new down payment.

I heard! I am getting bummed out as a few of the models I was considering can only be found used and are a few years out now. I may end up having to get a used model if the wait times end up being too long.

What cars have you been looking to get?

There is nothing wrong with getting used options. There are plenty out there. Some have very light use too. Just get a 2020 or 2021 model.

Yeah, I am leaning more toward going with used at this point and just getting a new model in another 3 to 5 years.

I was looking at a few different Kias, a Fiat, and one other one. I can't remember what model it was but I was told there was a 2 year waiting period.

Fiats seem to be on stock for the most part. It seems like the more specialty models and newest models are not in stock at the moment. Bummer people have to wait!
