Britain is locked in a battle to hold on to production of Jaguar Land Rover’s future range of electric vehicles as concerns grow that the UK is falling behind in the race to build vital large-scale battery factories.

The company, which is owned by the Indian conglomerate Tata, said it continued to “explore all options” for battery supply amid reports it could build electric cars in eastern Europe.

After coming out of the pandemic and many countries still struggling to get back to any sense of normalcy, this does not surprise me. I think that Jaguar needs to lower their expectations for now and push this back a few years. I don't understand what the rush is.

These factories are HUGE. I have seen one Giga factory in the US when I was visiting family and I was blown away. They cost a lot in land and resources to build and they can't just plop them anywhere.

Are these the ones they are trying to build everywhere? I have only ever seen one of them and it was the Tesla headquarters one in Texas. I saw some video and pictures of it and couldn't believe the massive size.

I believe so! They need to be massive because of the amount of production and parts they have coming in and out all the time. I think Tesla has one of the biggest though because they work with larger vehicles as well.
