Why are Teslas so expensive?

When you compare these EVs to other brands and makes, Tesla seems to have some of the highest starting points for prices. I really do like some of their models but it is completely out of my reach to afford one. I think if they did a budget model, they would sell a lot more of them, especially for people like me who would like to own a Tesla but just can't afford it. Something starting around £24k with nothing fancy but things that can be added. I understand this is considered more of a luxury car but if we are meant to be heading to fully electric cars in the next 10 years, prices need to come down.

Well, they aren't just EVs.

Teslas are computers on wheels. They are smart cars in every sense of the phrase. They always get updates and new things added to them as well.

This.

It isn't a standard car but rather more of a computer and you have to pay a premium for what you get. I do wish he would do a budget line but I doubt he will any time soon.

Crazy right? The Tesla EVs are not like any other cars on the market and certainly weren't the first EVs out there. When you drive one, you get a different experience. I have driven a few and they are amazing.
